Work-in-Regress

IT'S HIGH TIME I added some more unseen 'polished' cartoonery, and seen below is the first 'component' I have prepared in various states of development.

This image seen here is Part One of Three Parts of a fairly elaborate composite; my very best, time-consuming stuff is done this way:  I do lots of quick sketches of course but I do also intend putting some of my very best material on here.


In 2015, I experienced a computer 'crash' of my own doing [too much mucking about with my stored images] and I thought I lost a fair bit of unfinished work: they all turned up just recently, and most of these will continue to be finally finished.

The revamped version of the original drawing, with a new, improved Veronica face added and other embellishments.



BOTTOM IMAGE/Plate Two:




The original version of the drawing: the female form/body is fine, but that feminine face needed an uplift/facelift. Whether I drew it too fast [we all do this from time to time] or I just got better at drawing faces since last year----I just dunno.

THIS ITEM was a one-off, fairly elaborate Christmas-themed item in which the criteria was to recreate the ambience of the late 1960s/ very early 70s humour comics put out by IPC/ Fleetway---you know the sort of thing if you are into this stuff: Whizzer and Chips, Cor!!, and many more. ---in other words. 'no outright copying of established characters ' but I had to put over the basic ambience for them. Great fun, though clearly, this one took a fair bit of time to put together. Repeat Business [3]

TODAY'S ITEM is the fourth---and last, to date--------customized tailored caricature job I got offered by a kindly gent who liked my stuff enough to ask me back a few times. Great fun as usual and again I liked to do it in  fairly elaborate technique-style. HERE I HAVE ADDED the second sheet of artwork for my 'ice-cream' mini-strip; that is almost all of the character stuff/props complete on this one:  I just have to drop in the simple background plates. Although as revealed last posting I am not too sure of the copyright aspects as regards THE FLY, my adaptation of a King Kong-like character as seen here should be sound------he is just used as a supporting character, similar to adding in a stock vampire, or a Frankensteins' Monster-type 'also-ran' character------more on this later. New strip stuff is well under way for further inclusion on here. is it just me, or is that a wee bit of subversion I subconciously added to the double-cornet ice-cream? ENJOI! Rab-erto
