HERE WE SEE  my first all-new FLY entry of this year 2016: so, why has it all gone so quiet on the FLY front, then? -----Bsically, the FLY is my fave-rave personal cartoon concept in purely visual terms: BOOMER is undoubtedly my most commercial proposition, but this insect-science fiction theme has real potential for some truly absurdist and striking imagery, as can be seen below. HOWEVER! Although I have every faith in the visual impact of this enterprize, there is that little matter of   COPYRIGHT regarding the FLY-MAN Andre in particular: just too literally close to the unfortunate central character seen in the 1958 film, owned in perpetuity by 20th Century Fox. IPC REDUX

THIS ITEM was a one-off, fairly elaborate Christmas-themed item in which the criteria was to recreate the ambience of the late 1960s/ very early 70s humour comics put out by IPC/ Fleetway---you know the sort of thing if you are into this stuff: Whizzer and Chips, Cor!!, and many more. ---in other words. 'no outright copying of established characters ' but I had to put over the basic ambience for them. Great fun, though clearly, this one took a fair bit of time to put together. Characterization Part 3

More personality- based imagery which I am veering towards moreso these days........this sort of stuff is a lot easier than having to come up with strong single gag images every single attempt....I will try and do a bit of both: gag-orientated as well as this personality based cartoon material. The two characters seen here of course are the two main suporting players from my B BOOMER concept......the ever-present statue of Liberty aka Libby and evergreen King Kong variant KOONG KING. This image is only slightly rude.... I have deliberately avoided real lechery and K K looks fairly bemused and innocent when confronted with the Statue's hithero unseen underapparrel. I still believe that personality based imagery like this can be just as effective and amusing than gag and idea orientated material.
