Rough-n-Ready:
HERE'S a few very recent cartoon sketches I done for a well-known cartoonist's site. Much of my time this year has been spent trying to work out how to do digital color, and although it was/is fascinating and worthwhile, the sheer 'artificiality' of it all eventually proved off-putting, so for a wee while at least, I am more than happy to return to good old pencil-and-paper.
It has been an absolute relief to return to this much more natural method of doing cartoons, ---don't get me wrong, the potential and flexibility of computerized manipulation is very impressive and handy-------but the sheer pleasure of sketching out pencils is so straightforwards and instant, it appeals to me much more than any modern embellishments.
Enjoi!!! More black inkings/color versions will follow.......

ReplyDeleteThanks, Peter! That one never went down too well over on CCGB, but I appreciate that you liked it.
ReplyDeleteYou can't please everyone!
I like the mouse in the phone box cartoon, particularly Vibes' face. The baked bean one's good as well, and the giant robot. Hey, I like them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nibbles! My ratings have shot up since returning: I'm also glad you remembered my character's names!
ReplyDeletecheers!
