NOW THAT WE ARE SADDLED WITH THE uncouth, knee-jerk-reaction-prone Donald Trump as leader of a Modern Superstate, the gloves are off politically, and the Prospect of all-out Nuclear War looms teeteringly closer than ever since---oh, the Cuban Missile Crisis. Will  Trump contribute to a Global Conflict that will decimate Civilization? We will find out before too long---perhaps we won't even know what hit us, as World War 3---if it ever rears it's Ugly Head------ will doubtless last only a few hours. All I can do regarding this bleak state of affairs is to comment in Satirical Terms: The Badd Eggs seem quite happy about the Apocalypse, however....... RAB L. ROUSER 

DRAWN BY ME in January 2016; comissioned satirical cartoon [with early version before Digital Editing] I personally prefer 'all-out', outlandish imagery but sometimes those paying just want something simple---not as much fun to do, but part and parcel of this business if you want to be a 'commercial artist'. To be honest, all that blank empty space often looks more pleasing to the eye----easier money, too! Added for back-up/storage purposes,   and nice to add in some properly finished drawing for a change. RAB L ROUSER 

NOT SO MUCH A NEW SERIES, more an organic continuation of all that has gone before, the recent triumph of the Political Maverick that is DONALD TRUMP will likely be looming quite large of future proceedings within this site-----he is such a potent subject for satire cartoonery, it would be very difficult to leave him out. As a result of Don taking ' center stage' within the lampooning-stakes, this has meant that previous prime targets THE BADD EGGS have been demoted to supporting stooge status, and from this point on they are being portrayed as lickspittle lackeys who idolize Don. More of these coming up, they have already been drawn up. RAB L. ROUSER

----SO WHAT, EXACTLY, have I actually learned and picked up as regards learning about cartooning, in the six years since I started up this site, then? ---Well, clearly, the biggest single change in my drawings has been the adoption of DIGITAL MANIPULATION: I was actually a late advocate of taking this up: a quick backtrack to the early days of this site will reveal that it wasn't really all that long ago since I done everything in pencil, ink and paper, with absolutely no computer embellishments. Eventually I succumbed to compu-scuttering-aboot, though and although it creates extra work [it definitely takes longer using computers] the results are infinitely more flexible and downright interesting, and I am now sure glad I went this route----it makes it easier to sell stuff as well. TODAY, 8th November 2016 at the time of writing, may prove to be the biggest turning point in World Politics since  JANUARY 30, 1933 inasmuch that the renagade loose cannon that is DONALD TRUMP may later today seize power of a modern Superstate. The guy appears to be  hellbent in creating mayhem on a Worldwide scale, and if he obtains power I reckon the planet will be a much more dangerous place. In the North Korean corner, we also have Kim Jong openly declaring he will prime Nukes at anyone he deems fit:   happy days are here again! At least Kruschev backed down in the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis---but Trump or Jong----NO DICE, BUSTER!!!!!! Trump is not above hovering his itchy trigger-finger over the Nuclear Button: his kneejerk reactions and hot-headed persona could mean he could escalate a War even worse than the Nazis instigated-----I hope he gets defeated, I will find out within a few hours.  A   P.R.A.T.S.  'Royal Special': CARTOONING THESE ABSURD SITUATIONS can be highly entertaining for the artist involved, sketching out the wide humorous gamut from all-out fantasy, through to more low-grade, unrefined satirical  output like this sucker seen below. Not a great likeness of Our Majesty the Queen , perhaps--------I very rarely use Google Images for reference, despite photos of Her Madge being just two clicks of a mouse away------maybe next time I feel like drawing her I will strive for greater recognizability facially---but this drawing is enough to put her identity over. Although the 'social elite' are depicted here, this image is essentially an ANTI-SNOBBERY cartoon, designed to deflate the pompous section of 'civilization'  that pollute all walks of society. RAB L. -------or should that read: KOONG-FRONTATION, as the main attraction dominating the proceedings here is , of course, one of my main supporting players----KOONG KING------- within the BOOMER Universe. KING KONG  [the original movie phenomenon] has been a lifelong inspiration on me, the 1933 original especially being one of the nigh-perfect, fat-free handful of virtually flawless feature films ever made---in my view. I just found out I am getting the blu-ray version of the 1933 version as a Chrimbo prezzie in a few weeks time [it's availible on import only regarding the UK at the time of writing]. Below, you can see the technique I use a lot where I shrink elements of the artwork down for a more spaced-out effect: once you get the hang of doing this, it is relatively easy as pie. I really should drop in a jungle or cityscape background for this one-----I more than likely will. Anyway, now this is done, I'm off out for a mid-week bevvy. RAB L. ROUSER
