HOLY ROCKETIZED PILLAR-BOXES, ROBIN!



I HAVE BEEN watching a fair bit of 'vintage' BATMAN on Blu-ray disk, and my absolute fave is the 1992 sequel with the grotesque Penguin and kinkily sensual and fetishistic  Catwoman: the story is not up to much, --and the dialog is even worse---but visually this is superior stuff in my view, especially in hyper-impressive hi-def.

The newer Batman films by Christopher  Nolan are OK, but are a bit more Earth-bound in comparison, and  I prefer the more wholly-rounded fantasy of the earlier epics personally.


I am pretty sure that the bizarre visuals of that  1992 motion picture has influenced my drawing seen here: although the odd EGG character looks very much inspired by the flamboyant style of 1960s UK comics from the   D C Thomson and Odhams stable:


THE BADD EGGS are currently being screened on an international  online cartoon outlet before a wider audience......response yet to be gauged

HERE WE SEE  my first all-new FLY entry of this year 2016: so, why has it all gone so quiet on the FLY front, then? -----Bsically, the FLY is my fave-rave personal cartoon concept in purely visual terms: BOOMER is undoubtedly my most commercial proposition, but this insect-science fiction theme has real potential for some truly absurdist and striking imagery, as can be seen below. MORE RELENTLESS RIBBING from my egg-themed satirical cartoons: and I must say, I find there is an endless stream of in-built ideas that are naturally springing from this egg idea. Another fairly [deliberately] rough rendition, but as planned I can still spend the bulk of my time on my central BOOMER characters here: the satirical targets are simple [but hopefully effective] second-string characters which I simply use as the butt of the gag ideas... mere .throwaway fodder, but fine for doodles like this one. A lot more of these on the way: they are so quick and easy to do. There is some polished stuff in the works as well---all coming up shortly. RABBO

Cops 'n' Robbers 2: Boomer fights Back!

An early 'Crime-n-Punishment' scenario theme-drawing of considerable vintage, this cartoon 'turns the tables' on the Noo Yoik cops who emerged so triumphantly dominant in the previous cartoon outing. Hardly the epitome of sophisticated  or 'highbrow' humor, these crime-related drawings reflect my own basically unpretentious sense of humor, which avoids  many 'modern' trends such as sarcasm or   irony, both of which are well catered for within much of today's printed and published output. IRONY is fine if handled well, but SARCASM has never especially appealled to me, either in real-life, or within mass-entertainment. This mode of 'humor'  definately has a following, but I do not count myself amongst these numbers. Give me that falling Anvil gag, or  a well-deserved boot up the a** scenario    any day of the week! I reckon the following gag has subconciously been influenced by TEX AVERY or somesuch purveyor of elaborate slapstick.
